If you haven’t noticed by the crazy heat and humidity, summer is here! In true Heather fashion, I’ve lost almost every single pair of sunglasses I own. While my husband keeps telling me that if I “invest” in a quality pair of sunglasses I won’t misplace them so easily. Well, I think we all know that’s not exactly true. I’m generally just a forgetful person, I think. Oh well, I digress.
I was in Michaels the other day (pretty much how all of my blogs start), and they were doing their Dollar Deals Sale — and had their colorful sunglasses marked down to $2 a pair! I snatched up several colors and went on my way.
Today, I want to show you how to make rhinestone embellished sunglasses and glam up those $2 sunglasses! In all seriousness, ever since adding some sparkle and shine to my sunglasses I haven’t lost one pair — maybe because I invested some love into them! Maybe you’ll never pass by a cheap pair of sunglasses again!
Anyways, this is the easiest DIY I will probably ever do on my blog. It’s actually so easy that I can’t really call this a DIY.
Rhinestone Embellished Sunglasses
Sunglasses (search for these in Michaels or your nearest dollar store)
Rhinestone Stickers (this link is to the exact stickers I used)
Oops, yes, that’s only two supplies. That’s why easy DIY projects are the best. Can I get an amen?
Okay, here’s what you do. Decide what pattern you would like your rhinestones in. I chose for mine to be symmetrical on both sides — but you do you.
Pull them off the clear plastic sheet, and push them onto your sunglasses wherever you’d like them. Ta-da! As you can see, I did three different colors with different patterns of rhinestones on top.
If you don’t use adhesive stickers, I would recommend using just a touch of hot glue to adhere any rhinestones to your sunglasses. However, these adhesive rhinestones are working just fine for me!
