Today here at The Deans List, we’re starting a new series called Liked it, Pinned it, Made it! Most of my posts are inspired by others or in general awesome ideas that I’ve had on my own. Other bloggers are often my biggest source of inspiration, and I love recreating their ideas any chance I get.
I’m not a big fan of real life taxidermy – they just freak me out. Thankfully, being on trend doesn’t mean I have to actually have my husband’s lucky shot on my wall, and instead I can purchase beautiful resin antlers. Sounds like a win-win to me! (PS, he would never let me glue faux flowers on his deer. I’ve already asked)
When I saw this adorable tutorial by the gals at A Beautiful Mess, I knew I had to recreate it. Though I’m not really in a need for a new necklace display (i think?), I thought it was so cute as wall art!
First, I removed all the flowers from their stems. I cut out circles of felt to fit behind each flower, then used hot glue to adhere the felt to the flower.
After each flower had a piece of felt glued on, I laid the flowers out like I wanted them on the antlers. I wanted the biggest flower in the middle, then the others surrounding it. My stems came with small buds that I actually am really glad I included in my final piece. All of this only took me less than 10 minutes to do. This would be perfect as a gift to your favorite boho friend.
I might use this as a jewelry organizer, or I might just hang it as decoration!
